A 6-week Introductory Course
We investigate the Buddha's teachings via the three-fold path of ethics, meditation and wisdom.
Each session starts with an introduction to calming meditation practices, followed by a tea break. In the second half of the morning, there will be a talk, followed by group discussion led by an experienced Buddhist practitioner.
Participants progress through the three paths of study with Level 1 and it is suitable for those completely new to Buddhism, or for those who are exploring how the Glasgow Buddhist centre and Triratna Buddhist Order present the Buddha's Dharma.
The course will give a clear account of the foundations of the Buddha’s teachings. Participants enjoy the opportunity to discuss some of the big issues in life in the spirit of open enquiry and find out just how relevant the traditional Buddhist teachings are to our contemporary lives.
It runs from 10am-12.30pm
Each course comprises six weeks (all Tuesday mornings) and concludes with a full day retreat after the last session on Sunday 23rd February 10.30 - 4.30pm (bring vegetarian food for our shared lunch on the day retreat).
Booking is essential for this course. You can make a booking online here by adding to basket. We offer the Buddha's teachings freely, so there is no specified charge for the course.
Donations are most welcome for those who feel able to support in that way. You can donate as you book online, via our Donate page, or at the centre.
