Welcome *(Last updated 24/08/2016)

The Glasgow Buddhist Centre is a peaceful oasis in the middle of one of the city’s busiest streets. You are welcome to drop in to look around the centre. We are the Triratna Buddhist Community (formerly the FWBO), a worldwide movement that seeks to make the traditional teachings and practices of the Buddha available to the modern world.

Our classes are open to all. Whether you come for a yoga or tai chi class or want to find out how the Buddhist approach to life can change yours for the better, we'll be pleased to see you.

Dana economy launch: a weekend of rituals and celebrations.
Friday 9 - Sunday 11 September
We're having a weekend of ritual and 'sangha actions' (that means doing stuff together!) to celebrate the launch of our dana economy, both in the centre and out and about in the streets and the park. We'd love you to join us.
Friday 9th September - purification and opening the mandala
Yes, it starts withdeep cleaning, of course! And also the ritual opening of the space, with meditations, mantras, shared food, and the building of a number of shrines, including the main Padmasambhava shrine. Starts at 11am.
Saturday 10th September - in the centre and on the streets
Co-ordinated sangha actions, meditating in the park, spontanoeus street meditations, leafleting teams and a Bodhicaryavatara Puja, dedicated to bringing positive action to these troubled times. More details with timings to follow.
Sunday 11th September - Padmasambhava Day
Our annual celebration of the great Guru of Transformation, co-led by the GBC trustees with Sinhacandra and Suriyavamsa as our Masters of Ritual, and culminating in our heart offering - the dedication of our dana economy. Starts 10.30am.

Please join in and spread the love!
